Just Spoke to Larry!
It is very hard to be an ‘absentee mother’ to a pony. I just got a good report from Larry about how DL is doing. I guess my little mare that can get ‘fat on air’ was getting a little chubby by Larry’s standards. I do realize that about 80% of Dawna Lisa’s life revolves around food and the way to achieve MORE food. Yes, I am a bad mother since I was a nearly endless supply of carrots.
Larry has been enjoying riding DL out on the trails. I thought it was a good thing for DL and Larry said he is having fun with her. He said “What do expect Claudia? You know I love this pony and she is no disappointment under saddle.” Nice to know my beloved mare can inspire good thoughts from someone other than her ‘mother’, me.
I am greatly looking forward to going to Florida again. I told Larry that I am planning to be at Black Prong on Saturday afternoon and much of Sunday. Larry told me that there are 18 animals on the waiting list for Black Prong so I guess the odds are not good that DL will be able to compete. I really matters little in the big picture. DL loves Florida and is having a great time learning more and more.
I am hoping to get some time to drive DL while I am down. I doubt that this will be a problem. Larry has invited me to all the TEAM Poulin events even if DL is not competing. It will be great fun to be included and certainly hearing the marathon scores on Saturday night will be as exciting as IF DL was involved. Saturday is the BIG day. I hope that I will be able to see Larry and his pair perform on the marathon. I know the basic hazards that I doubt will change much from Nature Coast. Still it will be VERY exciting IF I can be there and see it all.
Well, off to dream about driving DL in Florida and seeing the Black Prong CDE. Yours, Claudia
