The Morning of August 14th

This morning (Friday) dawned cloudy with the feeling of rain in the air. Both Hubby and I are tad tired from all the walking that we did yesterday. I think we are finally over jet lag but not a 100% yet. Soon we will be back out walking to more of interesting sites that Budapest has to offer.
This is our second trip to Budapest. Last time we spent most of our time in Buda and up on Castle Hill. Pictures can be seen at http://www.nashua.edu/novakc/Virtual2004/photo.htm This time we are staying Pest on one of the major ring roads of Pest.
Yesterday, we visited the House of Terror. Situated on the prestigious Andrassy Ut, The House of Terror is a museum and memorial rolled into one about the horrible period of Hungarian history between 1944 and 1967. This building was the headquarters of first the Hungarian Nazis and then the Soviet regime that ravaged Hungary. The cellar of this building was an actual prison with torture cells and a gallows.
Going to the House of Terror is a moving experience that leaves you with a great deal to think about. I will write more about this later since Hubby is bugging me about going for a walk..
